CLARA GROSJEAN
Born in 1997, Clara is a dancer, performer, and maker, living in Lyon (France).
With an overflowing imagination, she researches the relationship between mind-brain-body-consciousness and looks at the world with an holistic and ecological approach.
She first studied contemporary dance at the Conservatoire in Lyon, and obtained a Bachelor in Performing Arts Studies from the Université Lumière Lyon 2. Clara has travelled throughout Europe, while studying at Copenhagen Contemporary Dance School (Denmark) and Northern School of Contemporary Dance (Leeds, UK). She graduated in 2022 from Amsterdam University of the Arts, where she performed the work of Olatz De Andres, Louise Vanneste, Michael Langeneckert, Emio Greco, Michael Schumacher, and Jonathan Burrows. Clara developed an interest for somatic and spiritual practices, as well as improvisation and long durational performances. Recently, she worked with different choreographers and artists, such as Guillerme Botehlo, Katja Heitmann, Maureen Jonker, Sanne Clifford, Thomas Chopin, Rita Marcalo. She also collaborated with musicians from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam
She founded the Compagnie Sfumato in 2022, to develop choreographic and hybrid artworks.
In 2024, she started a long term research project on ecology within choreographic practices.
She is currently supported by the program 'Artiste en expérimentation' at Centre National de la Danse in Lyon.
